Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Medical Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical billing processes, coding procedures, and healthcare claims management. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely submission of insurance claims, managing patient accounts, and maintaining precise medical records. Your expertise will contribute to the efficient operation of our billing department and support optimal revenue cycle management. Duties Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collections processes, working diligently to resolve discrepancies and secure payments. Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility to facilitate smooth billing procedures. Stay updated on changes in healthcare claims management, coding regulations, and health insurance policies to ensure ongoing compliance. Skills Proficiency in medical coding including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare claims processing. Experience with billing software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems, and Microsoft Office applications. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers. Familiarity with health insurance policies, benefits verification, and medical collection procedures.

Pay:

$22.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 per week
