Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Medical Biller to manage the revenue cycle for a busy single-provider dermatology and aesthetics practice. The ideal candidate must have experience with dermatology billing, cosmetic/aesthetic procedures, and Modernizing Medicine (ModMed EMA). This position requires someone who can work independently, manage insurance claims from submission through payment, resolve denials, and help maximize practice revenue. Experience with Medicare, commercial insurance, and cash-pay aesthetic services is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of the medical billing and revenue cycle for a single-provider dermatology and aesthetics practice. Submit electronic insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner. Review and correct claim rejections and denials, and follow up until claims are paid. Post insurance and patient payments and reconcile accounts. Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments. Work accounts receivable (A/R) to ensure timely collections. Prepare and submit insurance appeals and supporting documentation. Review provider documentation to ensure accurate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding. Process patient statements and collect outstanding balances. Answer patient billing questions professionally and courteously. Maintain accurate billing records and documentation within Modernizing Medicine (ModMed EMA/Practice Management). Coordinate with front office staff regarding insurance verification, referrals, and authorizations. Assist with obtaining prior authorizations as needed. Monitor aging reports and resolve outstanding claims. Generate billing, collections, accounts receivable, and revenue reports using Microsoft Excel . Maintain organized spreadsheets to track claims, payments, denials, collections, and key performance metrics. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Excel , including formulas, sorting/filtering, pivot tables, and reporting. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and payer guidelines. Assist with credentialing updates and payer enrollment when necessary. Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial information. Perform other billing and administrative duties as assigned. Requirements Proven experience in medical office administration or medical billing with familiarity using billing software and EMR/EHR systems. Strong understanding of healthcare claims management processes including
DRG, CPT
coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and medical terminology. Knowledge of health insurance policies, benefits verification, and medical collection procedures. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionally. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting purposes. Prior experience working with medical records and understanding of medical coding standards is highly preferred. Ability to adapt quickly to new technology platforms and stay updated on industry regulations. $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
