Billing Specialist Full Time Lakeview Surgery Center

• West Des Moines, IA Lakeview Surgery Center has an opening for a full time Billing Specialist to join our team.

Manages the claims process, including accurate and timely claim creation, follow-up, and correspondence with providers, and insurance company inquiries. Assure that payments related to patient services from all sources are recorded and reconciled in a timely manner to maximize revenues. Duties include but aren't limited to:

• Review and verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies following billing guidelines
• Process payments from insurance companies and patients
• Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
• Utilize EMR software to track and manage claim status
• Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers regarding billing issues in a professional and courteous manner.
• Review the monthly aging report, send statements to patients and process accounts in accordance with the credit and collection policies.
• Able to fill in and help out as needed in other departments. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Medical billing experience required; surgical background experience preferred.
• Must be flexible in hours to provide coverage when needed.
• Able to work in a busy fast paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must be organized and able to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of basic medical office billing, medical terminology.
