Billing Clean-Up Specialist
Title:
Billing Clean-up Specialist (Government/FAA)•(Hybrid•3 days a week onsite)
Location:
Columbia, MDEmployment Type:
6+ Months (likely to extend)
Pay Range:
$35/hr•$45/hr on W-2Our client, a global leader in high-tech engineering and secure communications located in Columbia, MD, has an immediate need for a Billing Clean-up Expert. This is a project-based role focused specifically on resolving a backlog in FAA-related billing and ensuring all financial records are accurate and compliant.

This is an ideal role for a senior-level billing or project accounting professional who excels at forensic reconciliation and enjoys high-impact "sprint " projects.

Primary Mission•
Forensic Billing Audit:
Conduct a comprehensive review of the current FAA billing backlog to identify gaps, errors, and unbilled items.•
Accuracy & Resolution:
"clean-up " procedures to get all billing accurate, submitted, and caught up to current requirements.•
Compliance Assurance:
Ensure all project billing aligns with FAA and government contracting standards.•
Efficiency:
Work quickly to clear the queue and provide a summary of findings to the Finance leadership team upon project completion. Required Skills & Experience •
Specialized Billing Knowledge:
Previous experience with FAA billing or high-level government contract billing (DCAA/FAR) is strongly preferred. •
Data Mastery:
Advanced Excel skills and experience with large ERP systems (e.g., SAP) to navigate complex billing modules. •
Problem Solving:
Proven track record of cleaning up aged receivables or billing backlogs in a technical or defense environment. •
Self-Starter:
Ability to operate with minimal guidance and deliver results in a fast-paced "special project " environment.
