The Medical Billing Coordinator will be responsible for charge entry, payment posting, insurance and patient collections, as well as insurance and hospital billing. This role will also perform general office functions as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
Answer client phone calls regarding billing questions and provide timely resolutions. Review remittances and EOBs to ensure payments align with fee schedules and contracted rates. Investigate and reprocess denials and partial payments. Notify team lead of trends or changes in insurance company payments or authorizations. Submit appeals for denied claims within allotted timeframes. Update Plan IDs and patient/payer demographic information; post notes and memos to accounts; resolve recoupment issues. Perform special projects and other duties as assigned. Thorough understanding of the revenue cycle process. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills. Proficient in reading and interpreting EOBs.
