Purpose:
The Collections Clerk is responsible for managing assigned customer accounts, securing timely payments, resolving billing disputes (adjustments), and maintaining accurate account records. This position works closely with customers, carriers and internal departments to resolve disputes, ce past-due balances, and support overall collections performance.
Job Duties:
Manage assigned accounts and prioritize collections by aging, balance, risk, credit limits, and payment history Collect payments in accordance withpany policies and established terms Contact customers by phone, , and othermunication methods regarding past-due balances Negotiate payment arrangements while protecting thepany's financial interests Research and resolve billing, short-pay, ctions, and invoice disputes Reconcile account activity and payments Maintain accurate, detailed, timely collection notes and account documentation Escalate high-risk accounts according topany prores Achieve established collection and productivity goals Protect confidentiality of customer andpany financial information
Qualifications:
3 years in collections, accounts receivable, or customer account management preferred; transportation and logistics experience a plus Strong verbal and writtenmunication skills Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with internal teams Comfortable working with financial information, aging reports, and account-management system Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel) is required Experience with ERP/accounts system preferred
