Medical Billing Specialist

Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Medical Biller to join our growing billing team. We are specifically looking for candidates with recent medical billing experience in either: Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) OBGYN / Women's Health The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of insurance follow-up, denial management, appeals, and accounts receivable management. This position plays a key role in maximizing reimbursement and ensuring accurate, timely claim resolution for our clients. Responsibilities Work insurance aging reports and denied claims to obtain payment. Research and resolve claim denials, rejections, and payment discrepancies. Submit appeals and supporting documentation as needed. Review payer-specific requirements and ensure compliance with billing guidelines. Follow up with insurance carriers regarding outstanding claims. Accurately post and reconcile payments when applicable. Maintain detailed documentation of all account activity. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing issues and improve claim outcomes. Provide excellent customer service when communicating with clients, insurance carriers, and patients. Meet productivity and quality standards while managing assigned accounts. QualificationsRequired Minimum of 3 years of medical billing experience. Experience billing and following up on claims for either: ENT practices, or OBGYN / Women's Health practices. Strong understanding of commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care plans. Experience working claim denials and appeals. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work independently in a remote environment. Preferred Medent experience. CMBS certification. Experience with multiple physician specialties. Knowledge of New York State Workers' Compensation and No-Fault billing.

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
