About the Role We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Coding & Billing Specialist to ensure accurate and timely payment for our patient services. You will play a critical role in our mission to provide breakthrough treatments for mental health conditions like trauma, stress, anxiety, and depression. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute your expertise to a growing organization dedicated to patient-centered care. This is a hybrid position working out of our Westmont, IL clinic. Key Responsibilities Review patient encounter documentation to ensure accurate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding for claims submission. Submit clean claims to insurance companies and manage any denials or claim issues through resolution. Collaborate with providers and medical staff to obtain necessary billing information. Generate patient statements, collect payments, and provide exceptional customer service to patients regarding billing inquiries via phone, email, and chat. Manage delinquent accounts, including sending accounts to collections when necessary. Process payer and patient refunds. Provide billing support and guidance to medical and support staff. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and ensure compliance with all relevant billing regulations and guidelines. Maintain current medical billing certification and proficiency (CPC preferred). Minimum Qualifications CPC or similar certification (well-qualified CPC-A also considered). Minimum of two years of experience in outpatient billing, coding and denials, including claim creation and submissions, Evaluation, & Management (E&M). Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with behavioral health billing preferred.
