Position Summary Our mission is to ensure our patients receive excellent care with a convenient, cooperative, and cost-effective atmosphere by providing experienced and efficient orthopaedic and surgical expertise. The purpose of the Billing Representative is to provide exceptional customer service by interacting with patients, worker's compensation representatives, insurance companies, and other medical offices in a professional manner. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent or higher education. Previous billing experience of 2 years or more. Previous healthcare/insurance experience of 2 years or more. Computer proficiency with Windows and Outlook experience. Good decision-making, communication, and organizational skills. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to multi-task and be flexible to accommodate the needs of the department due to the ever-changing healthcare field. Understands the importance of maintaining confidentiality per HIPPA guidelines. Job Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Promptly answering billing phone line as well as checking voicemail lines and returning calls in a timely manner. Answering general billing questions from staff and patients in a welcoming and professional manner. Collecting payments on patient accounts (including pre-pays for procedures as well as collection accounts). Working with insurance to overturn denied claims. Maintaining patient billing records. Maintaining confidentiality of patient information. Other duties as assigned. Reporting Relationship The Billing Specialist reports to the

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
