Job Description

The Willis Law Group firm is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented candidate with 5+ years of experience in legal billing. This candidate will work with the Billing Lead and Accounting department for the firm. We offer a friendly, business-casual environment and a competitive salary commensurate with experience. Candidates must be detail-oriented and have a demonstrated ability to perform consistent, high-quality work while cognizant of task-related deadlines. Minimum 5 years working in a law firm environment. At least 3 of those 5 years in legal billing.
Legal Billing Clerk Responsibilities:
Prepare, distribute, edit, and track pre-bills. Address billing issues and disputes. Prepare finalized billing statements. Preparation of reports for threshold review. Review retainer balances/replenish. Preparation and distribution of reporting for trust accounting to primary attorneys. Mid-monthly reviews of pre-bills for any discrepancies. Establish working relationships with e-billing site vendors; make certain all timekeepers and rates are up-to-date on the sites; submit timekeepers and rates for approval as needed Track and help reduce write-offs. Closing of matters in financial systems. Reassignment of matters. Various types of Reporting. Other duties may be assigned.
Legal Billing Clerk Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED or higher education. Billing experience in a law firm or professional services company Accuracy and attention to detail Multitasking capabilities Verbal and written communication skills Organizational and time management skills. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and work well with team members. Knowledge of Tabs3 software is a plus.
