Job Description
Dental Billing & Insurance Specialist Our busy pediatric dental and orthodontic specialty practice is seeking a full-time Dental Billing & Insurance Specialist to join our business team. We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working with both insurance companies and patients. This position plays an important role in helping families understand their insurance benefits and financial responsibilities while ensuring patient accounts and insurance claims are processed accurately and efficiently. Responsibilities Include Processing and submitting dental insurance claims Following up on outstanding and denied insurance claims Creating accurate treatment estimates for patients Verifying dental insurance eligibility and benefits Entering and maintaining insurance plans, fee schedules, and benefit information Posting insurance payments and reviewing explanations of benefits (EOBs) Posting private patient payments and maintaining accurate account balances Answering patient questions regarding insurance benefits, treatment estimates, account balances, and payments Communicating with insurance companies to resolve claim and benefit issues Reviewing patient accounts for accuracy Assisting with additional billing, insurance, and financial tasks as needed What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys problem-solving, pays close attention to details, and can confidently explain sometimes-complicated insurance and financial information to patients in a friendly and professional manner. Experience with dental insurance, dental billing, or working in a dental office is required. Familiarity with dental terminology, procedure codes, EOBs, coordination of benefits, and dental insurance plans is a plus.
