Under the general direction and oversight of the WIC Coordinator, the WIC Bilingual Data Entry Clerk is responsible for supporting the delivery of services for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC). This includes making appointments, determining eligibility of participants, answering WIC questions, and managing WIC clinic flow. Essential duties for this role include greeting participants of the WIC program with courtesy, communicating to participants their rights and responsibilities as well as information on how to use their WIC benefits. The WIC Clerk is responsible for scheduling clients, answering phones, data entry, copying and scanning documents needed for client enrollment/certification, triaging the reception, following up on no-show clients, preparing and sending participant correspondence and appointment reminders as well as other duties as assigned by supervisor.Qualifications Responsibilities :
Perform eligibility and enrollment screenings with participants Schedule appointments and manage WIC clinic flow Translate for Spanish speaking families. Perform client recruitment, scheduling, and enrollment activities through outreach activities and community engagement efforts. Answer client phone calls and assist with general inquiries. Collaborate with professionals across disciplines to support client care. Travel locally for routine duties and occasionally out of town for meetings or conferences. Perform other duties as assigned.Required Skills, Education, and Experience:
Skills & Experience:
Requires knowledge of general principles of public health. Skilled in maintaining client medical files, both electronic and hard copy. Knowledge, skills, and experience working with and utilizing community resources. Familiar with local health and human services agencies. Computer literacy at the user level is required Ability to maintain satisfactory working relationships with other employees, patients, family members, health personnel, and other professionals. Demonstrates problem solving skills and is solution oriented. Administrative Requirements Must own a dependable automobile properly insured and possess a valid driver's license. Willing to accept other duties as assigned by ESHD. Adheres to policies and procedures, confidentiality, and HIPPA principles. Drug-free environment; drug screening and background check required.
