BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB
Under the direct supervision of the unit supervisor, processes applications to determine eligibility and redetermine program eligibility for childcare services using state computer program. Completes paperwork connected with childcare services by obtaining verifications, assisting the client as necessary, and processing cases in accordance with childcare guidelines to either approve or deny applications, process re-applications, changes, terminations, etc. Enters data into computer system or other applicable databases as required. Refers clients to certified or licensed childcare providers. Writes case dictation and business correspondence, maintains case record in audit trail, files, logs data, and forward to imaging department. Provides rule interpretation and instruction to agency staff, clients, providers, and public on childcare eligibility issues. Responds to complaints and assists clients with information as needed related to childcare services. Maintains communication with clients as related to their childcare services. Conducts initial investigation of possible fraud by reviewing inconsistencies in past and present reported information. Refers to Benefits Recovery Unit/Fiscal as indicated. Processes overpayments as necessary. Files case records with imaging unit and completes correspondence, reports, etc. Collects information for monthly reports. Takes messages, provides general information on childcare services, and updates manuals. Addresses and mails forms, notices, reminders, and miscellaneous materials to clients. Attends and participates in staff meetings, training sessions, conferences, and workshops. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director or designee.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • One year of experience as a Unit Support Worker 2, 30112.
  • Or one course or six months experience in behavioral science, social science, or customer service techniques,
  • One course or six months experience in business mathematics,
  • One course or six months experience in business English,
  • One course or six months experience in interviewing techniques,
  • One course or six months experience in typing, keyboarding or word processing.
  • Or education, training and/or experience in an amount equal to the Minimum Qualifications stated above.
