The Kentucky Department for Community Based Services (DCBS) is a multi-faceted agency that provides services and programs to enhance the self-sufficiency of families, improve safety and permanency for children and vulnerable adults; and engage families and community partners in a collaborative decision-making process. DCBS seeks a Case Management Specialist who is driven to succeed in helping people and advance family self- sufficiency. With professionalism and integrity, our agency offers aid to families to ensure services are provided to the families of the Commonwealth that are in need. The Case Management Specialist is a skilled team member, providing a vital link between children and families to public assistance programs. The employee is expected to perform at the highest quality to ensure services to the vulnerable citizens. This is a demanding position that requires maturity and self-discipline. We offer the opportunity to work with families in need of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Medicaid, Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program and Child Care in the Commonwealth. Collects, analyzes, verifies and maintains documentation provided Responds to email requests from chain of command. Completes assigned listings that include, but are not limited to, Address Match Reports, Pending App listings, Pending Disposition listings and Cola Listings. Schedule and complete MRT reviews as needed Respond to clients, authorized representatives and provider questions regarding programs, policy and procedures. Prepares for and attends hearings as assigned Participates in quarterly AMA regional meetingsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience in social work, counseling providing direct services to individuals and/or families (i.e., employment services, community action agencies) or experience in reviewing, monitoring, determining eligibility for and/or administering Food Stamps, Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program, Medical Assistance, Child Support or other public assistance programs will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis The position you are applying for has access to or use of federal tax information (FTI) or meets the statutory definition of front-line staff.
