Job Summary BMC Law is seeking an experienced Litigation Secretary with California state and federal court filing experience to support attorneys handling complex commercial, transportation, employment, and financial services litigation. Responsibilities include preparing, formatting, and filing legal documents; managing litigation calendars and court deadlines; organizing case files; and maintaining accurate records and databases. This position coordinates with courts, opposing counsel, clients, and internal team members, as well as schedules depositions, meetings, hearings, and travel as needed. This position will assist with assembling exhibits, proofreading documents, managing litigation deadlines, and ensuring compliance with state and federal court rules and filing procedures. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Newport Beach, California, in-office attendance is required. Pay Range $40.00 - $52.00 an hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated litigation support skills. Required Experience Recent experience e-filing in California state courts and U.S. federal courts, including CM/ECF is required. Advanced Microsoft Word skills, including preparation of TOCs, TOAs, Styles, and document Shells, are required. Experience organizing pleadings, motions, discovery materials, and case files. Experience calendaring litigation deadlines pursuant to California Rules of Court and federal court rules is required. Understanding of California Civil Code of Procedure (CCP), California Rules of Court (CRC), and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP). Qualifications Minimum of 4 years of litigation secretary experience. Strong knowledge of legal procedures and litigation support practices. Excellent calendaring and deadline management skills, including scheduling hearings, depositions, meetings, and court appearances. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in document management, data entry, record keeping, and professional correspondence. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail and proofreading abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Word formatting), macOS, Adobe Acrobat, legal practice management software, and electronic court filing systems. Experience with Clio and Lexis is a plus. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information. Prior experience supporting commercial, employment, or business litigation matters is preferred. Experience supporting litigation matters from inception through trial is highly desirable. Join the
