Job Description
Overview The Bridge Group of Arizona is seeking an experienced and detail oriented Medical Biller to manage the day to day billing and insurance related functions of our behavioral health organization. This is an in office position for someone who is comfortable independently reviewing claims, resolving denials, communicating directly with insurance companies, verifying member eligibility, tracking outstanding payments, and assisting with insurance audits. The ideal candidate is organized, persistent, knowledgeable about medical or behavioral health billing, and able to follow claims from initial submission through final payment. Key Responsibilities Submit accurate and timely claims to insurance companies and payers. Review claims for accuracy before submission. Monitor submitted, pending, rejected, and denied claims. Research claim denials and determine the appropriate corrective action. Correct and resubmit denied or rejected claims when appropriate. Contact insurance companies regarding claim status, denials, authorizations, payment issues, and other billing concerns. Follow up consistently on outstanding and unpaid claims. Review Accounts Receivable (A/R) and aging reports. Verify active insurance coverage and eligibility for current and incoming members. Identify changes or termination of member insurance coverage. Verify member benefits when necessary. Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and remittance information. Identify underpayments, nonpayments, and discrepancies. Assist with claim reconsiderations and appeals. Maintain accurate records of insurance calls, reference numbers, claim statuses, and follow-up dates. Organize billing documentation and maintain accurate electronic records. Assist with insurance company, payer, and internal billing audits. Gather requested documentation for audits and ensure information is submitted by required deadlines. Review documentation for billing compliance and identify missing information that could delay payment. Communicate billing or documentation concerns to management and appropriate staff. Track recurring denial reasons and help identify solutions to prevent future denials. Provide management with updates regarding outstanding claims, denials, payments, and billing concerns. Maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements at all times.
Qualifications Required:
Previous medical billing, healthcare billing, or revenue cycle experience. Experience reviewing and following up on insurance claims. Knowledge of claim denials, corrections, and resubmissions. Experience communicating directly with insurance companies. Understanding of insurance eligibility and benefit verification. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage multiple claims and deadlines. Professional written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable working with electronic billing systems, payer portals, and spreadsheets. Understanding of HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.Preferred:
Behavioral health billing experience. AHCCCS/Arizona Medicaid billing experience. Experience with commercial insurance plans. Experience working with HCPCS and CPT codes. Experience with denial management and appeals. Experience preparing documentation for payer audits. Experience working A/R and aging reports.Pay:
