Responsibilities Prepare and submit detailed medical claims for personal injury cases using billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Accurately code procedures and diagnoses utilizing CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), and ICD coding standards to ensure compliance and maximize reimbursements. Review medical records and documentation to verify accuracy and completeness before billing submissions. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims by communicating with insurance companies, health providers, and patients to resolve discrepancies. Maintain organized records of all billing activities, including claim status updates, payment histories, and correspondence logs. Stay current with healthcare claims management regulations, health insurance policies, and coding updates to ensure ongoing compliance. Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to inquiries from patients, providers, or insurance representatives regarding billing issues or payment statuses. Experience Proven experience in medical billing within a healthcare setting, preferably with personal injury or related specialties.
PROFICIENT IN CHIRO FUSION
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding standards including CPT coding, ICD-9/10, ICD coding, DRG classifications, and healthcare claims management. Familiarity with billing software platforms, EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems, EHR systems, and Microsoft Office tools. Understanding of health insurance policies, medical collections processes, and patient account management. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in billing procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with insurance companies, healthcare providers, patients, and team members in a professional manner.
