Job Description
Reading the contents of district attorney files as well as all discovery provided daily in court such as Probation Reports, Probation Violation in Lieu of documents, medical and psychological evaluations, RAP sheets, preliminary hearing transcripts as well as motions and discovery provided by defense counsel. Proofreading documents, including motions, letters, memos and other legal documents. Performing general office duties such as filing, maintaining office supplies, opening and distributing mail. Also maintaining files, by securing documents in their correct section and updating notes in files as requested. Becoming familiar with district attorney's office and court data bases including searching court records, sheriffs¶records, and the preparation of in-house documents including felony complaints, master witness lists, subpoenas, and discovery compliance documents. Maintaining accurate records of all evidence obtained from law enforcement, promptly distributing discovery to all parties and maintaining accurate records of that distribution. Appearing in court to assist with routine tasks such as approaching the bench, meeting in chambers with judges as well as making sure DDA Wojdak is aware of any changes made to the daily court calendar. Describe the physical appearance of defendants, jurors, attorneys, witnesses, court personnel etc. Also describe photographs, (including disturbing injuries) body worn videos, surveillance videos, coroner's photos, etc.
