Job Description

Part-Time Bookkeeper /
Office Administrator Location:
Camarillo, CA Schedule:
Part-Time (20 hours/week, consistent but flexible schedule)
Compensation:
$22
  • $30 per hour (DOE) About the Role We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Office Administrator to support a growing organization with multiple entities.
This role combines hands-on bookkeeping, payroll processing, and general office/HR administration. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable managing both financial and administrative responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities Bookkeeping & Accounting:
  • Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoice entry and payment processing
  • Ensure proper coding and documentation of financial transactions
  • Perform bank reconciliations, journal entries, and account reconciliations
  • Track cash balances and generate financial reports as needed
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Prepare internal financial reports and assist with tax-related activities
Payroll Processing:
  • Process regular and off-cycle payroll (semi-monthly and as needed)
  • Audit and validate employee timecards, including overtime, vacation, and sick time
  • Manage payroll updates such as direct deposit and withholding changes
  • Reconcile payroll transactions with the general ledger
  • Assist with payroll filings (W-2, 943, 940) and compliance requirements
  • Support audits including workers' compensation and retirement plans
HR & Office Administration:
  • Provide support to employees and maintain a positive, service-oriented environment
  • Maintain employee records, onboarding documentation, and compliance paperwork
  • Support benefits administration and enrollment processes
  • Assist in maintaining HR policies, procedures, and training records
  • Perform general administrative duties (emails, phone calls, filing, mail handling)
  • Manage office supplies and maintain an organized workspace
  • Support data entry and reporting related to operations and internal tracking
  • Assist with company events and team activities as needed
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or similar role
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks (required)
  • Strong experience in accounts payable and payroll processing
  • Understanding of payroll compliance, tax regulations, and deductions
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in multi-entity environments
  • Background in agriculture or similar industries (a plus)
