IslandSocialServices.org What does a Family Support Specialist do? >Occasionally performs work in the community at events and meetings. >Exhibits proficient communication and active listening in all forms of interactions with the families, staff, and partner agencies. >Works closely with other administrative staff to fulfill recruitment and matching tasks, as well as interviewing applicants for the Direct Support Professional (DSP) positions- Respite and Personal Assistance. >Provides guidance and training over the phone or in person to DSP staff as needed. >Exercises integrity, prompt follow-up, a caring attitude and team camaraderie in supporting families and DSP staff. Additional details Full Time Position (40 hours); 8:30 am - 5:30pm Hybrid work available once initial training period has been completed.

A Bachelor's Degree in a related Social Services field is preferred. Bilingual fluency in a second language such as Spanish, Farsi, or Punjabi - pay incentive for non-exempt admin staff of up to $1.50/hour above hourly rate based on employee passing a certification test. Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving, organizational skills, goal-setting, professionalism, ability to meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a team.
