Job Description
Office Manager - Law Firm Position Summary The Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative operations of a law office with approximately 35 employees. This position plays a key role in ensuring the office runs efficiently, supporting attorneys and staff, managing administrative functions, and serving as a point of contact for human resources administration. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, professional, and experienced in both office management and human resources practices. Key Responsibilities Office Operations & Administration Manage the daily operations of the law office to ensure an efficient, productive, and professional work environment. Oversee office facilities, maintenance, equipment, supplies, vendor relationships, and service contracts. Develop and implement office policies, procedures, and administrative best practices. Coordinate office space planning, employee onboarding logistics, and office-related projects. Ensure compliance with firm policies and applicable regulations. Coordinate firm meetings, events, employee functions, and training programs. Human Resources Administration Administer new hire orientation and assist with employee integration. Assist with benefits administration, enrollment, and employee communications. Serve as a resource for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and employment practices. Assist with employee performance review processes and documentation. Support employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture initiatives. Coordinate training and professional development programs. Partner with firm leadership on employee relations matters and HR best practices. Financial & Administrative Support Review and approve office-related invoices and expenditures. Monitor administrative costs and recommend process improvements. Work closely with external service providers, including IT vendors, benefits brokers, and office suppliers. Leadership & Team Support Supervise administrative staff and provide coaching, training, and performance management. Foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture across the firm. Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and improve operational processes. Support attorneys and firm leadership with special projects and strategic initiatives. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5+ years of office management, operations management, or business administration experience. 2+ years of human resources experience, including onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, or recruiting. Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced professional environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Preferred Experience working in a law firm, professional services firm, or similar environment. Human Resources certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or equivalent. Experience with HRIS systems and employee benefits administration. Knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
