Part-Time Office Manager , St. Matthew's By-The-Sea United Methodist Church The misson of St. Matthew's By-The-Sea is to make, nurture, and inspire followers of Jesus Christ who grow in their love for God and neighbor. Primary Responsibilities Be a welcoming and inviting presence to all who enter the church during the course of each week Managing communication throughout the life of the church. This includes telephone, email, website, calendars, and the church Facebook page Maintaining records and membership databases. Coordinating schedules and facility use Weekly walk through of sanctuary to restock pens, replace non-working pens, collect visitor cards, check for prayer requests, and pick up any extra bulletins, paper, etc. Daily walk through of building including turning off lights, making sure all doors are locked, adjust heating and air conditioning Move church paper records into a digital database Order office/church supplies as needed throughout the year Utilize the Bethany/Fenwick Chamber of Commerce, especially for managing church events. (Take Membership 101 and Membership 201 classes, which are one hour each) Prepare bulletins for worship services Supporting the pastor, laity, and church committees with administrative tasks as needed. (signup sheets for narthex, meeting agendas, etc.) Collect, edit, and put together a quarterly newsletter for the church. Attend quarterly Church Council Meetings Oversight The Office Manager will report to the pastor and Staff-Parish Relations Committee. An annual job evaluation will take place in each fall. Salary, Office Hours, Days Off, Vacation The salary for the Office Manager will be $18,000. Monday-Thursday, Office Hours 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. (20 hours) The church office will be closed for New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Colombus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day. The Office Manager is eligible for two (2) weeks of paid vacation per year. Vacation is accrued on a prorated basis each pay period based on the employee's regular scheduled hours. Vacation requests should be submitted in advance and coordinated with the Pastor to ensure appropriate coverage for worship services and other ministry responsibilities.
