Responsibilities Oversee all aspects of healthcare billing management, including medical billing, insurance third-party billing, and electronic health records (EHR) management. Ensure compliance with medical billing regulations, Medicaid regulations, Medicare regulations, and other applicable healthcare laws. Manage the hospital revenue cycle from patient registration through final payment collection, optimizing cash flow and reducing accounts receivable days. Supervise and develop a team of billing specialists and administrative staff to maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency. Implement and monitor billing software systems to streamline processes and improve data accuracy. Maintain thorough knowledge of health insurance policies, ICD coding standards, medical coding procedures, and insurance claim submission protocols. Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate documentation for medical coding and billing purposes. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with healthcare billing management standards and identify opportunities for process improvements. Experience Proven experience managing hospital revenue cycle management or healthcare billing operations in a long-term care or similar setting. Strong knowledge of medical billing regulations compliance, Medicaid and Medicare regulations, and health insurance policies. Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively with excellent team management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with billing software platforms is essential. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and healthcare information technology tools. Knowledge of ICD coding standards and medical coding best practices for accurate claims processing. Prior experience in hospital revenue cycle management or healthcare billing management is highly desirable.
