SUMMARY:
The Business Office Manager will be responsible for leading, directing, and supervising the overall business office operation of the center in accordance with state, federal, and company guidelines to maintain accurate and timely financial records in achieving the center's business objectives. Responsible for private billing, accounts receivable, and collection activities for the center. Including achieving cash collection, AR goals and census maintenance. Position will perform and supervise the accounting functions for accounts receivable and resident trust fund as assigned. The Business Office Manager will also support the company's mission, vision, core values, and provide excellent customer service to associates, residents, visitors, and guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee private billing, accounts receivable, and collection activities in the center. Organizes, evaluates, and monitors business office operations and assigned personnel in accordance with established standards of practice. Ensures integrity and confidentiality of all resident financial data. Oversees month end close activities related to ancillaries and submission of all private billing statements. Ensure that all center standards of practice relating to private billing are adhered to. Ensure that billing set up is accurate and cash expectations are met. Interacts with patients/families to define billing requirements and ensure prompt payment. Oversee all census activities including daily, weekly and monthly balancing with admission departments. Produces reports for analysis purposes as needed. Resident trust fund management and resident petty cash reconciliation. Verifying all patients have a viable payer source for the duration of their stay. Working closely with Medicaid Liaison to collect patient information for Medicaid applications Works with residents, families, guarantors, and third-party payers regarding billing questions, payment arrangements, and account resolution. Request and manage Medicaid authorizations as needed from Managed Care Organizations. Attend all Facility required meetings. Keeping clear communication with Administrator and Corporate staff. Transmitting bank deposits, disbursing Resident petty cash, visiting banks, Social Security Offices or other financial institutions as necessary. Maintain records and notes of all collection attempts per company policy and procedure.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance as required. Must be able to work during the weekend and after hours as needed as per employee handbook. Must possess refined character and sensitivity towards patients, staff and families always.
