Job Description

Job Summary:
Viola School District is seeking a dependable, organized High School Secretary to serve as the first point of contact for our high school office. This role supports the principal, faculty, students, and parents by managing front-office operations and ensuring smooth day-to-day school functioning.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet and assist visitors, students, and staff; manage front office and sign-in procedures Answer and direct phone calls; handle general correspondence and email Maintain accurate student records, files, and attendance data Assist with student check-in/check-out and communication with parents Support scheduling for the principal and coordinate meetings/appointments Prepare and distribute memos, forms, letters, and school communications Order and maintain office supplies; manage incoming/outgoing mail Assist with enrollment, registration, and records requests Provide general administrative support to school staff as needed Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred Prior office, clerical, or administrative experience preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace Ability to multitask in a fast-paced school environment Professional demeanor when working with students, staff, and the public Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
