GED Full Job Description SUMMARY:
The Clerk I manages the flow of incoming and outgoing correspondence, serving as a central point for the Fund's mail operations. This role involves the receiving, sorting, and distribution of letters and packages to ensure they reach the correct recipients in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Receive, date stamp, sort, and process all incoming letters and packages from various postal and courier services. Secure handling of confidential or urgent mail. Prepare outgoing mail and parcels, which includes weighing items, calculating correct postage, and affixing shipping labels. Distribute all internal and external correspondence to the correct departments or individual employees. Log incoming/outgoing mail and maintain delivery records. Monitor and replenish supplies for mailroom equipment and Fund departments. Responsible for preparing and batching documents for scanning in accordance with department-specific batch forms. Maintain accuracy in scanning by categorizing documents by class and type. Ensure scanned documents meet accuracy standards throughout the validation process. Review, research, and process all mail and checks returned to the Fund due to address discrepancies. Retrieve copies of older digitized documents at the request of various departments. Meet or exceed established department production and quality standards on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Perform other job-related duties/special projects as assigned. Comply with the policies of the Trust Fund, as set forth in the Employee Handbook. Abide by organizational and HIPAA guidelines, privacy practices, and confidentiality. Adhere to the company's attendance policy.
