Make a meaningful impact in your community by joining the team supporting our local Veterans as a Human Services Screener. Are you interested in a fulfilling opportunity to support our community and make a difference in the lives of the citizens of Nevada County? The Veteran's Services Department is seeking a new support staff team member. This position is best suited for individuals who enjoy interacting with people. Helping people and answering their questions is the name of this game! Strong customer service skills are vital in this position as there is heavy customer interaction connecting our Veterans with services to best serve them. This individual will support the department by assisting with clerical tasks related to the department units including: Greeting and assisting customers. Processing incoming and outgoing mail. Answering phones. Completing and filing forms, and other clerical support duties as assigned. Graduation from High School or GED plus two (2) years of full-time experience performing increasingly complex clerical office support duties comparable to the Office Assistant II classification for Nevada County. One year of experience at the Senior Office Assistant level is preferred. Experience must have included substantial public contact. Licenses and Certificates Possession of a valid California driver's license within 30 days of hire.
