Job Description

We're a modern, mission-driven family law firm comprised of 6 attorneys and 6 support staff. We believe in providing meaningful, high-quality legal work while helping clients through deeply personal transitions with empathy and respect. We are looking for a full-time, non-exempt Administrative Assistant to join our collaborative team. The Administrative Assistant position entails:
General day-to-day office administration, including processing and scanning mail, answering incoming phone calls, and managing office supplies Conducting intakes with potential clients, scheduling consultations, and sending follow-up confirmation emails Managing the team calendar and assisting with scheduling needs Handling all aspects of client billing, including preparing invoices, accepting and processing payments, following up on unpaid accounts, and maintaining accurate billing records Managing client expenses and vendor bills as needed Troubleshooting basic technology issues and helping keep day-to-day office operations running smoothly Occasional running of errands as needed Working full-time in-office
Ideal Candidate Experience:
Prior office or administrative experience is required, preferably in a legal setting. Experience with billing is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Tech-Savvy:
You're comfortable working with technology and can troubleshoot basic tech issues, figure things out independently, and know when to ask for help.
Personality:
You have an outgoing personality, excellent phone etiquette, and are comfortable speaking with clients and potential clients, including people who may be highly emotional or going through a difficult time. You can gather information thoughtfully and professionally while making people feel heard and respected. You also have a sense of humor and enjoy a lighthearted laugh with your colleagues.
Skills:
You are organized, reliable, detail-oriented, and take pride in doing things correctly. You like owning your projects and responsibilities, keeping track of your To Dos, and checking things off your list. You are comfortable asserting yourself, asking questions, following up when something is needed, and speaking up when you need additional information or support.
Vehicle:
You possess a reliable vehicle with sufficient insurance coverage and current registration, as occasional errands may be required.
How We Support Our Staff Competitive Pay:
Expected salary range of $20-$30 per hour , depending on qualifications and experience.
Reduced Full-Time Hours:
Our office closes each Friday at 12:30 p.m. All staff are permitted to leave early and are still paid for the full 8-hour day.
Sick, Vacation & Holidays:
10 days of vacation and 5 days of sick time per year, plus generous paid holidays. For most Monday federal holidays, our office closes the Friday before the holiday weekend, creating a paid 4-day weekend. We also close the office for a paid holiday week in December.
