Job Summary The Administrative Assistant provides entry-level clerical and office support for a manufacturing job shop. This role helps keep daily operations organized by assisting with data entry, filing, document preparation, and general administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable supporting both office and shop floor teams. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide general administrative support to office, operations, and manufacturing teams. Enter and update basic information in company systems, spreadsheets, or databases. Prepare, scan, file, and organize production paperwork, purchase documents, customer orders, and office records. Support purchasing, shipping, receiving, quality, and production teams with basic documentation needs. Follow company safety, quality, confidentiality, and workplace procedures. Perform other administrative duties and projects as assigned. Required Skills and Attributes Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Good organizational and time management skills. Professional verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability to learn company systems, forms, part numbers, job travelers, and production paperwork. Dependable, flexible, and willing to help where needed. Comfortable communicating with office staff, shop employees, customers, and vendors. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle information professionally. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required. Prior office, administrative, receptionist, customer service, data entry, or clerical experience preferred but not required. Manufacturing experience is helpful but not required; willingness to learn is important. Basic experience with Microsoft Office preferred. Physical Job Requirements and Work Environment Regularly required to sit for extended periods while working at a computer. Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, bend, or move throughout office and production areas. Frequently required to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements while using a keyboard, mouse, scanner, copier, or other office equipment. Occasionally required to lift, push, or pull office supplies, paperwork, files, or light materials up to 25 pounds. May occasionally enter production areas where noise, moving equipment, machinery, metalworking fluids, dust, or other shop conditions may be present. Must follow all posted safety requirements, including use of personal protective equipment when entering designated production areas.
