Job Description
Greets patients, ascertains purpose of visit, and confirms or updates demographics and insurance in EMR system. Checks in and out patients in a timely, accurate and professional manner. Verifies eligibility for all walk-ins, obtains proof of eligibility, makes copies of picture ID, and of front/back of insurance card. Obtain signatures for form and documents and scan all required documents into EMR system. Directly responds to questions, provides guidance to patients and anticipates patient needs; accountable for their comfort. Collects co-payments from patients. Post payments from patients. Courteously answers calls, forwards to appropriate team member and accurately documents messages. Schedules, cancels and reschedules regular, missed and follow-up appointments; Schedules patient transportation as needed. Calls and confirms appointments; unconfirmed for day of and for the following day; conducts follow-up calls as needed to check on patients. Effectively manage special projects and other tasks as assigned. Performs other duties as required.
