Answers telephones, greets visitors, and responds to emails by providing information and assistance to the public. Receives and reviews building permit applications for accuracy and completeness before issuing permits. Receives requests for building inspections, schedules inspections, and enters inspection data into the appropriate software program. Processes Occupational Tax Certificate applications and renewals, issues building licenses, and collects associated payments. Picks up, posts, and delivers mail; assists in preparing zoning packets; notarizes documents; and performs other duties as assigned. High school diploma or GED required, associate degree preferred. Requires more than three years of related experience, excellent customer service skills, and a valid driver's license, knowledge of modern office principles/practices and computer skills or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work. The starting $18.10 per hour, plus generous benefits including and a five-year vesting schedule for retirement.
