Administrative Assistant
Job Description
Do you have an aptitude for numbers and working with people? If so, keep reading, we are looking for a detail-oriented person to train for this vital role. Grade 54, grade scale $20.10 - $28.75. Under general direction, provides administrative support to the finance office including, but not limited to, the following: assists in processing forms and payments related to general fund revenues (property tax, franchise fees, occupational license tax, etc.), including verifying that collections are in balance, making bank deposits, and updating payers' accounts; receives and responds to routine inquiries by phone and email; performs extensive data entry; prepares spreadsheets, reports, correspondence, and other office documents; exercises strong attention to detail and accuracy; communicates effectively in writing and orally; performs other related duties and responsibilities as required; handles sensitive financial information while maintaining confidentiality. Graduation from high school or equivalent (GED) supplemented by two years related work experience. Demonstrated ability to exercise analytical skills and strong attention to detail and accuracy. Assists with administrative duties, including filing, scanning, organizing, and maintaining electronic and paper financial records. 7. Exercises strong attention to detail and accuracy. 8. Communicates effectively in writing and orally. 9. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required. 10. Handles sensitive financial information while maintaining confidentiality. Analytical skills. 2. Strong organizational skills. 3. Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills. 4. Proficient data entry skills including proficient use of a 10 key numeric pad 1. Ability to maintain accurate records and filing systems. 2. Ability to make mathematical computations with speed and accuracy by hand or machine. 3. Ability to complete job tasks within established time periods. 4. Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and orally. 5. Mental alertness and attention to detail and accuracy. 6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others 7. Ability to firmly, but tactfully and courteously, work with the public in difficult situations
