Front Office Assistant / Insurance Specialist — Part-Time Chevy Chase, MD | 2-3 days per week We are a boutique private dental practice in Chevy Chase, MD, committed to providing exceptional dental care and a personalized, high-touch patient experience. We are seeking a friendly, organized, detail-oriented Front Office Assistant / Insurance Specialist to join our team 2-3 days per week . The ideal candidate is polished and personable with strong dental insurance knowledge and the ability to confidently manage both patient-facing and administrative responsibilities. Responsibilities Front Office Welcome patients and provide a warm, professional front-desk experience (secondary) Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and communicate with patients professionally Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments (secondary) Check patients in and out (secondary) Collect patient payments and manage patient accounts Maintain accurate patient records and update patient information Assist with general administrative and front-office responsibilities

• Verify dental insurance eligibility and benefits Review treatment plans and determine estimated patient insurance benefits Provide patients with clear explanations of their insurance coverage and financial responsibility Submit and track dental insurance claims Follow up on outstanding and aging claims Post insurance payments and reconcile accounts Investigate and resolve claim denials, discrepancies, and outstanding balances Maintain accurate insurance documentation and patient account information Communicate with insurance companies as needed The Ideal Candidate Previous dental front-office and insurance experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of dental insurance, claims, EOBs, deductibles, annual maximums, and patient benefits Highly organized and detail-oriented Excellent communication and customer service skills Warm, professional, and personable with patients Comfortable discussing treatment costs and financial responsibilities Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently Comfortable multitasking in a busy private practice Strong computer skills and experience with dental practice management software Dentrix experience is a plus We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and understands that the front office plays an important role in both the patient experience and financial health of the practice . Schedule 2-3 days per week , with flexibility depending on availability. Compensation Competitive hourly compensation based on experience and insurance expertise.
