Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support our hospice and palliative care team. In this vital role, you will manage administrative tasks that ensure smooth operations, facilitate effective communication, and uphold the highest standards of patient care. Your proactive approach will help us deliver compassionate services while maintaining efficiency across our healthcare team. Responsibilities Provide administrative support by managing schedules, appointments, and calendar coordination for hospice staff and clinicians. Handle internal communication channels to ensure timely dissemination of information among team members and departments. Perform data entry and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) management to support patient documentation and compliance. Assist with insurance third-party billing processes and revenue cycle management to optimize financial operations. Respond promptly to phone inquiries from patients, families, healthcare providers, and insurance companies with professionalism and empathy. Support medical terminology understanding to accurately process documentation and correspondence related to hospice care. Facilitate client communication by providing excellent customer service and ensuring clarity in all interactions. Skills Proven administrative experience within healthcare settings, especially in hospice or palliative care environments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation, scheduling, and communication tasks. Strong knowledge of managed care processes and health insurance procedures. Excellent schedule management skills to coordinate multiple appointments efficiently. Effective internal communication skills for clear written and verbal exchanges among team members. Accurate data entry abilities coupled with familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems. Exceptional customer service skills with a compassionate approach to client interactions. Understanding of medical terminology relevant to hospice and palliative care. Experience with phone communication handling sensitive information professionally. Knowledge of insurance third-party billing procedures and revenue cycle management practices. Strong writing skills for documentation, reports, and correspondence.
