Blue Mountain Car Center, Prairie City, OR Position Summary The Assistant Administrator supports the Administrator/DNS in the daily operations of the Long-Term Care Facility. This role assists with operational coordination, leadership support, regulatory compliance, and quality initiatives to ensure safe, efficient, and resident-centered care. The Assistant Administrator acts on delegated authority and may serve as the on-site leadership representative in the absence of the Administrator/DNS, as assigned. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Operations & Administration Assist the Administrator/DNS with daily facility operations, including workflow coordination and problem resolution Support implementation and monitoring of facility policies, procedures, and operational standards Participate in planning, organizing, and evaluating facility services to ensure efficient operations Assist with census management, admissions coordination, and discharge planning as assigned Support emergency preparedness planning and response activities Leadership & Supervision Promote, direct, and engage staff members toward the mission, vision, and values of the BMHD. Provide leadership support to department managers and supervisors Assist with staff oversight, including coaching, performance support, and corrective action as directed Serve as a point of contact for operational concerns in the absence of the Administrator/DNS, as delegated Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, resident-centered care, and teamwork Regulatory Compliance & Quality Support compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing Long Term Care Facilities Participate in survey readiness, audits, and inspections Assist with corrective action plans and follow-up on identified deficiencies Support quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives Staff, Resident, and Family Relations Assist in addressing resident and family concerns and complaints in a timely and professional manner Support effective communication between leadership, staff, residents, and families Model respectful, compassionate, and professional interactions at all times Additional Responsibilities Complete special projects and assignments as delegated by the Administrator/DNS Participate in meetings, committees, and facility initiatives as assigned Maintain confidentiality of resident, employee, and facility information
Education & Experience Requirements Required:
Bachelor's Degree Preferred:
None Certification & Licensure Requirements Required:
Current Nursing Home Administrator License or ability to obtain Nursing Home Administrator License Required within two years of employment. As part of our "Grow Your Own" program, will sponsor Administrator in Training Program to obtain Nursing Home Administrator License with three-year work commitment
