Job Description
This is not a traditional sit-behind-the-desk secretary position. Our school office is busy, fast-paced, and constantly changing. The right person will be someone who enjoys that environment, can think on their feet, and takes pride in making sure things get done. As the first face and voice of our school, our Administrative Assistant must be warm, welcoming, professional, and service-oriented. At the same time, we need someone who is confident, organized, resourceful, and comfortable taking ownership of the front office. You may be a great fit if you: Are exceptionally organized and rarely let things fall through the cracks Can be interrupted, change direction, and then return to what you were doing Listen carefully and communicate clearly Ask questions when necessary—but can also problem-solve independently Can prioritize what is urgent versus what can wait Remain calm and professional when a parent, student, or staff member is upset Understand that confidential information stays confidential Are comfortable working with a principal and leadership team who move quickly Enjoy children and understand that sometimes a scraped knee, forgotten lunch, ringing phone, delivery, and parent at the front door happen at the exact same time! Bring a positive attitude and a sense of humor to work Responsibilities include managing the front office, maintaining student records and attendance, assisting with enrollment and school communications, scheduling, supporting the Principal and leadership team, and handling the countless details that keep a school running each day. Strong technology skills are important, as this position regularly uses email, Google Workspace/Microsoft Office, student information systems, online forms, spreadsheets, and other school technology. Previous administrative, school office, or customer-service experience is strongly preferred. All required background checks and clearances must be completed prior to employment. If you are organized, energetic, dependable, enjoy people, and thrive in a job where every day is different, we would love to hear from you.
