THE POSITION
The Department of Transportation is seeking a Clerical Assistant 2 who is ready to take on a wide range of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. In this position, you will help keep important records organized, guide customers, and support critical maintenance activities. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports daily office operations and customer communication that help the Department function efficiently. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
Customer Support:
Assist callers, greet visitors, and direct inquiries promptly to the correct staff
Data Entry:
Maintain information submitted through the Customer Care Center to ensure accurate routing
Document Preparation:
Create correspondence, reports, and file materials according to established procedures
Program Assistance:
Distribute, collect and file CDL recertification forms, distribute weekly Traffic Restrictions Bulletins, and prepare specialized materials such as laminated snow maps
Record Coordination:
Gather hiring documents, update manuals, and organize winter complaint books for seasonal operations
Supply Management:
Monitor and request office materials while maintaining bulletin boards and processing mail Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Work hours subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.
Telework:
You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Graduation from high school; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
