This position is also being announced under Merit Staffing via announcement 26-TXE-13048706-MS. 1 Position to be filled in Tyler, TX To qualify for the position of Docketing Technician, at GS-0303-5, you must meet the qualification requirements listed below.
Please note:
This is a term position not-to-exceed March 31, 2028 , subject to availability of funds. This position may be extended, or made permanent, without further advertising. GS-5: To be qualified at the GS-5 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 in Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as performing various clerical/administrative support duties; performing the entry of data into the electronic file and case tracking systems; sorting and retrieving data to produce documents and reports; updating databases and systems to record status changes in all items docketed; assisting with conducting periodic file reviews; locating and correcting data entry errors; filing completed documents in appropriate locations; responding to inquiries; typing and formatting correspondence and forms, maintaining filing systems.
OR Education:
Four years of education above high school leading to a bachelor's degree in any field is the equivalent for the specialized experience. One year of full-time study is defined as 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) or the equivalent or 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for 36 weeks in business, secretarial or technical school.
OR Combination of Education and Experience :
combination of specialized experience and education as described above, where when combined equal 100% of the requirements. To qualify based on a combination, college education must be in excess of 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year). One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.) You MUST meet all qualification requirements by the 09/14/2026 of this announcement. Your resume must support your responses to the online questionnaire and the qualification requirements. Failure to do so may result in an ineligible rating. See the Required Documents section for important notes about what must be included in your resume. After you submit your application, you will receive notification indicated whether or not the USA Hire assessment is required. You will have 48 hours from the closing date of this announcement 09/14/2026 to complete the assessment which is part of your application. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
