Job Description

The Genoa City Jt. 2 School District is looking for an Administrative Assistant at Brookwood Middle School. Duties include providing support to the Building Principal and staff, assisting the public, and managing our school's general administrative activities. This individual organizes and performs a wide range of administrative work with minimal supervision and plays an integral role in the daily administrative operations for the building. The Administrative Assistant must be proficient in Google Suite and be able to effectively master software programs that support the district's information systems, such as Powerschool, Frontline, Skyward & Raptor. In addition, the ideal candidate must be self-driven and highly organized, efficient, and able to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Prior school experience is an advantage, but not required. The ideal candidate should possess the following: Exceptional interpersonal skills

•genuinely enjoys working with children and the public Effective, independent worker and supportive team member Proactive problem-solver; motivated in process improvement Knowledge of professional office management systems and procedures; working knowledge of office equipment (printers, fax machines, etc.) Maintains confidentiality and security with sensitive information and ensures compliance with privacy policy and regulations Answers and directs phone calls, responds to emails, and composes/sorts/distributes correspondence Compiles and generates reports; drafts and edits letters, reports, and other documents; inputs and updates information in databases and spreadsheets Runs, prints and distributes student report cards Accurate record keeping; maintains physical and digital filing systems and student folders Strong attention to detail; excellent written, verbal and proofreading skills Attendance monitoring: contacting families

Scheduling:

Create & maintain student schedules; internal coverage for staff absences Confident and comfortable assisting/covering the

Health Office:

helps with bumps, scrapes, and minor injuries, as well as bathroom accidents and issues Manages online registration for new enrollments Organizes Back-to-School night, parent-teacher conferences Monitors, stocks, and orders office supplies Provides support to visitors and act as a point of contact for the public; check in/out visitors, monitor entry, scans visitors into Raptor security system Attends building and district events, when assigned High School degree; additional experience as an Administrative Assistant or Secretary will be a plus
