Job Title:
Mail Clerk Reports to: Director of Facilities and Maintenance Dept./

Non-Exempt Primary Purpose:
Coordinate the smooth, accurate, and efficient handling of all goods moving through the district's shipping and receiving warehouse. Deliver materials, equipment, and supplies as directed.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Clear and valid Texas drivers' license
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to use automated inventory system Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions Ability to use maps and global positioning systems (GPS) to locate addresses and determine efficient routes for delivery Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
3 years of supply chain operation and delivery experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Delivery Make daily deliveries of materials and supplies using district delivery vehicle. Load and unload delivery vehicles using appropriate equipment and assist in moving and storage of materials as required. Maintain cleanliness of vehicle, equipment, and work area in accordance with applicable regulations and district standards. Records Maintain accurate records of items picked up and delivered. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required. Safety Maintain assigned vehicle and equipment in safe operating condition and schedule routine maintenance and repairs. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor. Inventory and Equipment Evaluate and recommend custodial supplies and equipment to be used. Conduct monthly inventory of physical equipment and supplies and maintain accurate records. Order tools, equipment, and supplies as needed. Other Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Display tolerance necessary for accepting supervision for and criticism of job performance. Work in harmony with supervisory, faculty, and peer personnel. Use professional information discreetly and judiciously. Support and follow administrative and Board policy. Represent the school system to the community in a positive, professional way. Maintain a sincere, friendly attitude toward patrons. Perform other duties as assigned.

Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; global positioning system (GPS); small hand tools; light truck or van; may use fork-lift and hydraulic lifting equipment

Frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion:
Repetitive hand motions; light keyboarding and use of mouse; frequent walking, climbing ladders; grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching; frequent driving
Lifting:
Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) on a daily basis
Environment:
Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, noise, and vibration; work around moving objects or vehicles; may work alone; occasional prolonged or irregular hours
