Job Description

Essential functions and responsibilities:
  • Greet patients upon arrival, check them in and obtain insurance information and any other necessary demographic or clinical data needed to complete their registration. Additionally, this position will assist with rooming patients after check in.
  • Provide patients with patient forms and legally required documents.
  • Process payments from patients for co-pays, pre-pays, co-insurance, outstanding A/R or private pay patients.
  • Scan hard copy patient information into the appropriate practice management/EMR system.
  • Clean and organize patient contact areas.
  • Provide patients with support and guidance and assist with rooming patients as needed.
  • Prepare and input patient records or forms that providers need for the patient visit or procedure.
  • Document pertinent information in the medical record
  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
Knowledge and Skill:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of applicable experience within a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of healthcare terminology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products, Internet browsing and medical practice management software.
Physical demands:
  • Frequent alpha/ numeric keyboarding.
  • Oral communication over the phone and in person.
  • Ability to view computer monitor.
  • Must be able to exercise patience and accuracy in the face of multiple interruptions.
