In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for individuals and families entering or calling our office, many of whom are experiencing or at imminent risk of homelessness. You will build immediate trust with clients, provide exceptional customer service, and deliver vital clerical support to our case management team.
Essential Functions Office Welcome:
Greet clients, answer incoming phone calls, and manage the front desk with a sensitive and caring approach.
Client Intake Support:
Assist visitors with initial inquiries and gather preliminary information to hand off to Case Managers.
Administrative Aid:
Support the case management team with scheduling, document management, and routine clerical tasks.
Data Entry & Correspondence:
Update office spreadsheets, log client inquiries, and process incoming and outgoing mail/documents.
Team Collaboration:
Maintain a clean, organized reception area and work collaboratively within a supportive team environment.
Qualifications Customer Service:
Excellent customer service skills with a strong ability to build trust under stressful situations.
Empathy & Equity:
Deep passion and sensitivity for working with people from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Organization:
Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle front desk logistics smoothly.
Communication:
Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills.
Education & Experience Requirements Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of clerical or receptionist experience.
Tech Skills:
Professional experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and spreadsheet applications. Additional Requirements Valid California Driver's License. Access to a reliable vehicle for daily office and field use. In-state auto insurance with your name listed on the policy. Desirable Qualifications (Plus, but not required)
Bilingual:
Fluency in both English and Spanish is highly preferred.
Pay:
From $18.34 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
