The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional administrative and clerical support within a busy medical office. This role requires strong organizational skills, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Experience with medical billing, insurance verification, and medical coding is highly valued to ensure smooth clinic operations and excellent patient service. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly and manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently. Schedule appointments using EMR system (WebPT) Answer, screen, and direct phone calls promptly and courteously Schedule new patient and follow up appointments accurately and efficiently Collect payments, process co-pays, and handle medical collections as needed. Maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA standards and health information management protocols. Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette. Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate patient intake, appointment scheduling, and follow-up procedures. General office organization and maintenance of patient charts Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to infection control protocols. Comfortable working independently and as part of a clinical team Experience Prior experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is preferred Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and medical billing processes is preferred. Experience with insurance verification processes and Medicare/Medicaid procedures is advantageous. Strong computer skills including proficiency in Google office applications are preferred Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette are necessary for success in this role.
