Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The receptionist assists in managing the front office. The receptionist will also preform various office activities and receptionist duties and will report to the office manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal and communication skills necessary to consistently receive and greet visitors, patients, and staff members in a professional manner. Performs necessary office duties. Answers and routes phone calls. Schedules patients, and enters pertinent information on the EHR. Greets and admits patients. Calls patients for various reasons, including missed appointments, appointment reminders, etc. Copies insurance cards and other required ID Accepts payments for co-pays, self-pay, etc. Maintain patient files, records, and other information. May do tickler call backs Verification of benefits for patients insurance May do prior authorizations Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and at least 1 year related experience and/or training.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, complete short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients and other employees of the organization. Bilingual is a plus.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform mathematical skills necessary for medication administration, and other skills as needed.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Interpersonal skills:
It is very important that the Receptionist have good people skills, be able to deal with patients in a kind, compassionate, manner. The Receptionist should be able to deal with unhappy patients or difficult situations, and always be professional and courteous.
PREREQUISITES
Prefer 1 year reception or related experience although we will train on the job when necessary.
