Pay:
Competitive, commensurate with experience. We're a busy, patient-focused optometry practice looking for a polished, experienced front-desk professional who thrives in a medical office environment. This is not an entry-level position — we need someone who can hit the ground running from day one. As the first point of contact for our patients, you'll set the tone for every visit, welcoming patients warmly, checking them in and out, and making sure their experience starts and ends on a positive note. In this role, you'll answer multi-line phones and manage a busy front desk, schedule and confirm patient appointments, verify insurance eligibility, process co-pays and payments, check patients in and out efficiently, and assist with general administrative tasks that keep the practice running smoothly. We require a minimum of one year of front-office experience in a medical practice — this includes optometry, dental, primary care, specialty clinics, or any other healthcare setting. The ideal candidate has strong patient care skills and a warm, welcoming tone that puts patients at ease from the moment they walk in, and is highly organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and genuinely passionate about delivering a great patient experience, with the ability to stay comfortable in a fast-paced, patient-facing environment. Familiarity with insurance verification is required; prior experience with vision insurance plans such as VSP, EyeMed, or Spectera is a plus but not necessary, as is experience with electronic health records or practice management software. We offer competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience, a collaborative and supportive team culture, and a real opportunity to grow within the practice. Because we're not able to provide training on medical front-office workflows or insurance verification from scratch, applicants without prior front-desk experience in a medical setting will not be considered, regardless of general administrative, customer service, or retail background. We know those skills are valuable, but this role needs someone who can start strong without a learning curve on medical office basics.
