Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our family-oriented team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for pet owners, providing exceptional customer service while managing the daily operations of the veterinary clinic. This role requires a love for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Receptionist responsibilities include but are not limited to Greet clients and their pets warmly, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is up to date. Process payments and manage billing inquiries with attention to detail. Assist veterinary staff with patient intake and discharge processes. Provide information on pet care, including nutrition, grooming, and training resources. Handle laboratory samples and maintain cleanliness in the reception area. Collaborate with veterinary technicians and veterinarians to ensure optimal patient care. Qualifications Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred; kennel experience is a plus. Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices. Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures related to animal care. Experience in animal handling, including dog handling, restraint techniques, and catheterization. Understanding of aseptic techniques and laboratory procedures is beneficial. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
