Responsibilities Assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and DX codes based on medical records. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collection processes, resolving discrepancies promptly. Maintain detailed records of billing activities, payments, and collections. Assist in resolving patient billing inquiries while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Greet patients when arriving for appointments. Answer phones as the needed. Call patients for appointment and lab reminders. Filing as needed. Sending and receiving fax to and from PCP offices'. Data entry Check in/Check out patients. Drive to both locations. Experience a plus Prior experience in medical billing or medical office administration is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare documentation standards. Familiarity with EMR and EHR systems used for billing and record-keeping. Strong understanding of CPT coding, ICD-10 coding systems and medical coding best practices. Experience handling medical collections and insurance claim submissions is advantageous. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to adapt quickly to evolving healthcare regulations and coding updates.
