Job Description
•Part-Time The Building Attendant/Receptionist is responsible for greeting visitors, patients and residents of Sayre Christian Village and to help direct each arrival to the appropriate area for their visit to ensure the flow of daily operations is as smooth as possible. At times, this position is responsible for responding to the Emergency Response System and securing the campus for the residents who live there. Also responsible for cleanliness, sanitation and orderliness of all building areas and common public areas of our Assisted Living Apartments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for general clerical assistance in their responsible building. Records data, such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment, for use by supervisory staff. Watches for and reports conditions that could result in injury or loss due to fire hazards, leaking pipes, spills, faulty equipment, etc. Enters those issues into the TELS system Responsible for responding to the Emergency Response System. Provide customer service to the residents and visitors Responsible for ensuring facility/common areas are kept swept, mopped, vacuumed, dusted and sanitized. Responsible for following infection control policies and procedures and performing all tasks in accordance with the Kentucky Department of Health and OSHA regulations. Routinely clean common areas, bathroom facilities, and any other area in the Assisted Living Community in accordance with Sayre Christian Village policies. Responsible for responding to housekeeping requests by the various facility departments, residents, visitors and family members in a professional manner. Maintain the professional and clean atmosphere of Sayre Christian Village. Comply with state and federal regulations and with HIPAA Security Policies and Procedures. Responsible for programming resident pendants and fobs, when necessary. Responds immediately to alerts from the emergency response system. If called and resident does not answer upon arrival, must enter apartments, and assess emergency. Monitor and document resident emergencies by completing incident report. Administrative duties as assigned. Responsible for answering and responding to Independent Living pendant calls. Other duties as assigned.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ability to Identify and resolve safety concerns Ensure proper use of all chemicals used in the cleaning process.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge and understanding of accident protocol. Must possess verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and with others. Ability to build trust and rapport with residents and families. Ability to work collaboratively with residents and employees as needed. Must obtain a thorough knowledge of supply areas, laundry rooms, and residents rooms.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS 1-2
years of experience working in large facility preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THE JOB
Frequently communicates with employees, residents, maintenance, and Assisted Living Coordinator. Frequently responds to Emergency Response Alarm, which notifies the Building Attendant via voicemail of an emergency with a resident. Frequently lifts objects weight up to 20 pounds. Frequently remains in a standing position. Frequently stoops, kneels, or bends when cleaning residents rooms, bathroom and shower facilities and common areas. Frequently works in a well-lit, tempered room. Frequently stoops, kneels, or bends to repair and clean property. Frequently walks throughout building to respond to property damages and resident emergencies. Occasionally exposed to outside elements when cleaning outside of building Knowledge and understanding of how to efficiently use Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word and Publisher. Frequently works with laundry appliances that can reach high temperatures. Frequently works with chemicals that can be hazardous if not handled properly.
