Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direct supervision of the charge nurse of the unit is responsible for performing clerical and receptionist duties.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepare for preoperative check-in of patient on the day of surgery.
- Aware of patient rights.
- Demonstrate flexibility in managing the workload.
- Maintain accurate inventory of unit supplies.
- Assume responsibility for receptionist activities.
- Assist with taking surgery bookings.
- Maintain and upgrade information into hospital communication system.
- Assist with HMS entry.
- Assist with emotional needs of patient and family members.
- Transport specimen.
- Recognize and respond to priorities in patient care.
- Adhere to dress code policy.
- Fulfill staff development requirements.
- Understand emergency procedures and protocols.
- Responsible for patient and employee safety as it applies to their work environment.
