Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our energetic veterinary team! In this vital role, you will be the friendly face and organized voice of our clinic, ensuring smooth daily operations and exceptional client experiences. Your enthusiasm for animal care and excellent communication skills will help create a welcoming environment for pet owners and their beloved animals. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to be at the heart of a busy veterinary practice, supporting both medical teams and pet families with professionalism and warmth. Responsibilities Greet clients warmly upon arrival, providing outstanding customer service and guiding them through check-in and check-out processes. Manage appointment scheduling efficiently using veterinary software, coordinating with veterinary staff to optimize daily patient flow. Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information about services, appointments, and general pet care advice. Collect payments, process medical billing, and ensure accurate record-keeping in compliance with veterinary administrative protocols. Assist with maintaining patient records, updating client information, and managing laboratory sample documentation. Support veterinary team members by preparing treatment rooms, handling animal restraint during examinations, and assisting with basic kennel duties when needed. Ensure compliance with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations and USDA guidelines related to medication handling and record keeping. Qualifications Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and medical-surgical procedures. Proficiency in veterinary software systems and Microsoft Office applications for record management. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with clients. Experience in dog handling, animal restraint, pet grooming, or kennel work is a plus. Familiarity with laboratory procedures, aseptic techniques, and veterinary critical care practices enhances your ability to support clinical teams effectively.
